Freshly brewed espresso and grated dark chocolate are the first things it shows in the aroma. Blackcurrant, blackberry and overflowing ripe raspberries add the fruitiness. The barrel gives itself away on the palate, the sweet spices, the roasted notes, the muscular tannin sensation, takes it to the massive side. Southern red, kneaded into muscle, it has power, tightness, alcohol and tannin, fruit and spice, and lasting flavours. It is hard-bodied and the Zen harmony has not yet been reached, but the potential is definitely there. Serve it with more substantial dishes now or keep it in the cellar — it will be an experience that can be enjoyed for years to come.
